New Freedom Mortgage

Ever had a bait-n-switch interview? I just had one this morning at New Freedom. What a waste of time for both parties.
Here’s how it went down: I have been submitting resumes to a few places lately in the lead up until I become officially licensed, so that I’ll have a brokerage to work from once I become official. So I sent a resume to New Freedom because they were advertising a need for loan officers. Well, when I got to the “interview” this morning I quickly learned that they were looking for call center reps (at $8.00/hr) who would eventually become junior loan officers and then, perhaps, become senior loan officers. That’s not exactly what they were advertising.
The silliest thing is that the hiring person called first to set up the interview, at which time I explicitly asked if they were hiring loan officers, giving them full opportunity to be straight forward about what they wanted, yet they brought me in and wasted my time and theirs anyway. I’m not trying to bash call center jobs (in fact I worked at a call center for a year as an IT Project Manager) - I just would never have gone to meet with this company had I known what they were looking for in the first place.
Needless to say, it was the shortest “interview” of my life.
